Middle School Student Hospitalized After Hit By Car At Beverly High School

A middle school student was taken to the hospital after they were hit by a car near Beverly High School, school officials and police said.

Beverly Police responded to a report of a crash involving a pedestrian at the school, located at 100 Sohier Road, around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7, authorities said.

Upon arrival, first responders found the boy suffering from upper body injuries after being struck while walking along the access road on the high school's campus. 

The boy, believed to be in fifth grade, was taken to a local hospital for treatment, according to police. He was last said to be in stable condition. 

“Our thoughts are with our student, and we wish him a full and speedy recovery,” Superintendent Charochak said. 

The driver of the involved vehicle, a Ford sedan, stayed at the scene and was working with investigators. The crash is under investigation.
